Paracelsus Recovery - Zürich

I recently visited Paracelsus as part of a documentary video series my company is working on profiling luxury rehab centers around the world. We had the unique opportunity to tour the residences and other facilities that are part of the program. More importantly, we got to interview Jan, the Director, and key members of his team.

I've visited a number of luxury rehab centers at this point, and while not a medical professional by any means, I was struck by the comprehensive nature and overall quality of the program. The credentials and experience of the team are impressive. Paracelsus really stands out as every detail of the program aids in helping the client meet their recovery goals. They only treat one client at a time—typically high profile and discreet individuals—so the program is completely individualized for that client's particular needs.

What's also unique is that Paracelsus is a family owned and operated business. This gives the entire operation more of an intimate feel, and allows the team to make on the spot decisions to best serve the clients. In addition, Jan, the Director has taken some ethical stances that I personally admire. Many high-end mental health centers rely on referring professionals sending them clients and then the center giving that referrer a fee, often quite large, in return. Paracelsus is opposed to that and never gives any type of fee or "kick-back" to referrers.

I visited the offices and the paracelsus recovery studios last July. I was impressed by the Gerber family organisation. Since I do not come from this world, they have managed to explain the different treatments to me in a simple way.

The program seems very intense and the location is amazing, in one of the best areas of Zürich.

Interestingly Paracelsus is treating only one client at the time, so as consequence is very discrete and private (normally they treat high profile and discreet individuals, that's why the high-end price).

I am definitely returning back to Zurich and will look forward to meet Jan Gerber again.

Paracelsus Recovery is amazing. I have been to several "high-end" rehabs, but Paracelsus is another world. I was somewhat skeptical at first; treatment is very expensive and there is a big emphasis on their five star service level and luxury residences. But then I found their program for treating addictions being the probably most advanced and comprehensive in the world, so I decided to give it a shot. And did they deliver. The team is so kind and compassionate and they really seem to know their stuff. One does feel that one is the only client and that the place is owned and run by a family, not an institution. Thilo Beck, their psychiatrist is a gem, he is probably the first psychiatrist by whom I really felt understood. Dr. Riedel who is their person for biochemical restoration is probably the most knowledgeable doctor I've ever met. I can't mention every person individually, but I felt all of them would stand out in their respective fields.
I also appreciated the flexibility in the treatment schedule to accommodate some need for private time and work.
Though I came there for treatment of an addiction, they took me to a dentist for a check and arranged other (unrelated) medical check-ups as part of their service, because they found that I had somewhat neglected my health and that this was necessary. That really impressed me, as no other rehab I've been to even mentioned that a medical check-up would be a good idea.
Thus overall a very positive experience, despite the hefty price tag, which I really did feel uneasy about at the beginning, also because they ask for full upfront payment.

Трудно переоценить время проведенное в Paracelsus Recovery . Часть специалистов клиники говорят по-русски, но все лечебные сеансы замечательно работают и через переводчика. Лечебный план очень интенсивный и иногда утомительный, но проходит в комфортной и безопасной среде. Это не обычная клиника и их семейный подход к ведению дел ощущается в каждой детали. Paracelsus Recovery to prawdziwi profesjonaliści w swoim fachu. Już od pierwszego kontaktu miałem poczucie, że mój problem jest dla nich istotny, a co więcej - czuć było od nich przekonanie że posiadają wystarczającą wiedzę żeby mi z nim pomóc.
